Cansford Laboratories is delighted to announce the recipient of its 2023 Christmas appeal is Dads House, the charity which is dedicated in supporting parents – particularly fathers – when all seems lost without recourse to legal representation in child arrangement matters.
Our Christmas charity appeal donation will go specifically towards widening access to justice via the Dads House Family Law Clinic. Billy and his team’s dedication to the cause and the pro bono services offered since May 2020, is an exemplar in its commitment to deliver legal advice.
They have helped over 800 dad’s and mums in their clinic on a Wednesday and Friday, and over 25,000 telephone enquiries telephone calls, over the last three years alone.
The impact of Dad’s House extends far beyond the legal realm – in providing foodbanks, a breakfast club, cookery classes, football, yoga, and guitar sessions – but always, their main aim is providing desperate people with access to justice.
Billy and the Family Law Clinic Manager manage the clinic and its enquiries and offer primary support. The legal team helps clients, through form filling, advice, casework, court representation and holistic support and coaching.
Dads House’s pro bono solicitors are all leading practitioners; Simon Bruce Dads House’s Legal Director, Veryan Exelby, William Hogg and Victoria Teymourian-Yates.
Dads House pro bono family law barrister Simon Miller from Harcourt Chambers and unique partnership with Coram Chambers to ensures pro bono court representation.
As a marker of the legal excellence Dad’s House Family Law Clinic were awarded the ‘Family Law Case of the Year’ (2020 and 2021 Family Law Awards) by setting up case law in the High Court.
