Abbi Holloway

Abbi’s story at Cansford is one of steady, impressive growth. Joining straight from the University of South Wales in 2017 with an MSci in Forensic Chemistry, she has worked her way through virtually every level of the laboratory, from hands-on bench work as a Lab Analyst, through Senior Scientist and Deputy Laboratory Manager, to her current role leading the lab day to day. She was also among the representatives at the PEth Net consensus meeting on alcohol blood testing, reflecting her commitment to staying at the forefront of developments across the industry.

That journey gives Abbi an unusually complete understanding of how the laboratory operates, and a natural authority that her team genuinely respects.

Outside of work, Abbi has been busy renovating a house in the Welsh valleys with her partner and daughter, which by all accounts is quite the project. She approaches it with the same determination she brings to the laboratory, though she draws the line firmly at the garden. Some battles, it seems, are not worth fighting.
